We preserve the historical, technological and cultural transitions within the Seattle Police Department and King County Sheriff's Office.

Since the 1850's law enforcement in Seattle and King County and have experienced vast changes within their respective organizations.  As with many government organizations, these entities seldom have the time, funding, political support, or infrastructure to adequately preserve their history resulting in a significant loss of physical artifacts, documentation and public understanding.  The Seattle Metropolitan Police Museum's mission is to preserve and share these historic items for the purpose of educating the public through "demystifying" the police.  Thanks to the contributions of many, this goal has continued to prosper since the Police museum's founding in 1997.  As with any 501c-3 non-profit organization, the generosity of those in the community who share the same vision is critical in continuing the museum's mission and goals.  Find out how you Take Action to assist us with our fundraising efforts that will allow us to share this information for future generations.
